seeing that armageddon is coming VERY soon, certainly less than in 7 years,
I suppose what he was really trying to say was "youve had it buster"
i remember around 2009, there was a scandal going on involving 2 families in my cong where the husband in one family was having an affair with the wife of the other family.
this resulted in pregnancy and subsequent disfellowshipping.
what was interesting to me though was a comment made by a co from the platform.

"most british people think religion causes more harm than good according to a survey commissioned by the huffington post.
surprisingly, even among those who describe themselves as “very religious” 20 percent say that religion is harmful to society.
for that we can probably thank the internet, which broadcasts everything from isis beheadings, to stories about catholic hospitals denying care to miscarrying women, to lists of wild and weird religious beliefs, to articles about psychological harms from bible-believing christianity.".
6. Religions seek power.Think corporate personhood. Religions are man-made institutions, just like for-profit corporations are. And like any corporation, to survive and grow a religion must find a way to build power and wealth and compete for market share.
Sounds familiar?

I found it interesting. It fits the borg to a 'T' but also so many other religions.

jehovahs witnesses have been criticized by community leaders for not fixing up parks in dumbo, brooklyn, as promised.
.
they will justify, to the rank and file, that it is pointless giving money back to a doomed world, and that this critisism is from the devil.................
and the rank and file will swallow it whole.
"jehovahs organisation"is always right. Difficult for us to counter their auguments to those who really need it, ie to those within the borg.
my 94 year old jw dad is now in hospital--i visit him every day.. in the opposite corner of the ward were a group of visitors to an oldish chap.
my dub-dar caught words like kingdom hall and watchtower from the rather loud voiced woman i took to be the patients wife.
she also mentioned a dub by name ive known for 40+years--so i guessed they are in the local congregation to my dad.. as i was leaving--the woman said to me--"what a loving --dutiful son i am.
,amusing stan. my mum is in a care home now.
she never got visitors at home, but now she is in the home she gets visitors regularly. oh, and they make sure to tell everyone that they are jehooovahs witnesses too.
So much for not letting your right hand know what the left hands doing. They often go in to see her when they are on the work "in the area". I wonder why.
has there been any discussion about why jehovah would guide his people to a polluted property to build their world headquarters?
......so they are looking to get money out of it?
here is part 2..
so you will have some understanding of the boe i will reference in future posts, the following is who they are:.
the coordinator.
looking forward to part 3.
hi.i've been pouring over this site for the past few days looking for some advice and i hope there is someone here that can help a guy out.
i'm desperate.....short bio: i came into the organization after high school and shortly after married a wonderful girl who was born-in.we have been happily married now for nearly 20 years and things were well until 2015 hit.
by the way, i currently serve as an elder and have the ""privilege"" of being the "watchtower overseer".. either here nor there, we were told we would never have children but late last year my wife became prego!!
my deepest simpathy to you and your wife darkknight.
I have little to add to the good advice already offered but wanted to add my welcome to all the others.
My only advice:spend time with your wife. she needs it. plan little treats together. you may well find she has a preference for a weekend away for the two of you, than going in field service and to the meetings.
i was just explaining to mrs picard........ never a jw, and not english, how we used to celebrate the harvest festival, when i was 7 and younger, before my parents converted to jw'ism.. i loved to sing "we plough the fields and scatter".
of course, singing such hymns is, to a jw, paramount to apostasy, with the death penalty like punishment the ensued.. how really stupid their harsh rules.. did you have any favourite hymns?.
i think we would all agree, that they beat the pants off the "kingdom melodies".

Beth sarim:of course your right. music is very stiring and often used to promote a reaction in people
Phizzy:so songs of praise is still going strong? a bit like coronation street!
